Play With Clay(:

This assignment was really fun. Basically we could make anything we wanted out of clay and spend at least 30 minutes on it. I don't know why I chose to do this fishy sculpture, but it's pretty cute. Haha!

Shapes

This week we were assigned to start working with clay. We had to make 5 shapes: a cube, a pyramid, a snake, a ball, and a shape of our choosing.

Perspective

This is my perspective drawing. I wish that I had colored it with something other than crayons, because it looked a lot cooler before I did that.. It looks kind of childish now. But I really liked this project and I think it turned out well. (:

Earth Art

This is a picture of a plant in my house. I sprayed it with water, and added some pine needles from my backyard to it in the middle so that there was a little bit of contrast of colors. (:

Logo

This is the logo I created for my "future makeup line" haha. I just was trying to play around with an S because my name is Sydney.. and this is what I came up with. It sort of reminds me on the ying and yang symbol thing which is cool, so I really like how it turned out. (:

P.S. It's supposed to be going vertically not horizontally, with the circle thing on the top.. but I couldn't get it to rotate.

Grid Drawings

This week, we had to take a picture of our choice and draw one inch by one inch squares over the top of it. Then we had to copy the picture square by square on another sheet of paper. I actually really liked this assignment. I think it's a good way to draw, because if I tried to draw the picture that I picked just by itself, I wouldn't have been able to do it. I picked this picture because I really like vintage things, and I love remodeling houses.

Map Art

I created an imaginary place called "Wonder Island." It's full of very girly sounding landforms and seas. (:

Week 1.

This is my drawing for week 1 of art. I honestly don't know what I was going for in this, I just thought it looked kind of cool. Originally this drawing was flipped the other way, but I flipped it upside down to see if it looked any more interesting and I think it does. I haven't ever drawn anything like this before so I was definitely just trying to be creative.
